  1. I am going to get this book. Love scene history. Check out the documentary “The Outhouse” about a legendary venue in Lawrence Kansas. I’m from KC and though there was a bit of a KC vs Lawrence rivalry it was only about 40 minutes down the road so we ended up there a lot for shows. They would get a lot of shows that we didn’t in Kansas City because Lawrence Kansas is a college town and had more young people in the scene. Kansas City was mostly older punks and didn’t really have a lot of younger kids until around 85. Watch the 1990s rolled around and punk became cool the outhouse got every band coming through.
